Out of all the events that we attended last Halloween, Scream Factory was by far the best that we’d attended. Read our review here. And we also named it our best Scream Park of 2017 here. So we had to share the fact that they’d sent word of their Halloween event going on sale and that they’d won another award recently. Take our word for it, this is definitely an event worth attending, our biggest takeaway from it was that a hell of a lot of thought had gone into its design. This wasn’t a succession of rooms with actors jumping out at you with little thought, they’d really crafted every area for maximum impact! Put them in your calendar if you can! TEESSIDE BASED HALLOWEEN EVENT WINS EUROPEAN AWARD
A family run Halloween haunt based in Teesside has won a prestigious European Award.
Scream Factory, the North East’s largest and scariest American style Halloween haunt, owned by the Tate family saw 22,000 visitors attend last October.
The event opened for a two-day special Valentine’s themed scare event this February and has been awarded ‘Best out of Season Event’ at the spooktacular European scare awards held by ScareCon.
Stephen Tate, Owner and Managing Director of Scream Factory said: “Our Valentine’s event was lots of fun to produce and we’re incredibly proud to be bringing home an award for our first out of season attraction.
To be able to say we are a multi-award winning haunt is a brilliant achievement and we are all so very thankful to everyone who came along to Scream Factory.
We have lots of plans and surprises in store for October and look forward to welcoming guests back.”
Scream Factory is set in the grounds behind Kirkleatham Museum, in Teesside and was set up by the Tate family as a way to diversify their North East based flood restoration business.
Now in its seventh year, the haunt sees thousands of visitors seeking the fright of their lives attend each year and hires over one hundred actors and events staff providing much needed jobs in Teesside.
Michael Bolton, MD of ScareCon Europe said: “We have been impressed with the diverse range of scares and experiences at the regular Scream factory Teesside event, but were amazed at how much effort had gone into making this seasonal event. The overall feeling of creepiness mixed with amusing theatrics and terrifying jump scares, were enough to keep us laughing and screaming in equal measures”
“For a first stab (pun intended) at a non-Halloween event, the team pulled off a stunning show and we cant wait to see what they come up with next.”
Scream Factory opens on selected nights from October 12th – 31st. Tickets are available now from http://www.screamfactory.co.uk
